國(guó)家一級(jí)重點(diǎn)保護(hù)野生動(dòng)物布氏鯨是一種體型較大的海洋哺乳動(dòng)物，體長(zhǎng)10到13米，體重可達(dá)10至15噸。布氏鯨的存在對(duì)整個(gè)海洋生態(tài)系統(tǒng)有著重要的滋養(yǎng)作用。

日前，在廣西壯族自治區(qū)北海市潿洲島附近海域的監(jiān)測(cè)顯示，2023年布氏鯨棲息數(shù)量已接近60頭，這個(gè)數(shù)字比之前的記錄有所增加，也證明了潿洲島附近海域的生態(tài)環(huán)境日趨變好。
